Besides repairing, decluttering, and staging, a deep cleaning of the exterior is also necessary to sell your home. One of the most quickest and cost-effective ways to remove the dirt and mildew around your home during summer is pressure washing.

Restore the Beauty of Brick Surfaces

The classic look of brick makes it a popular choice in using in the pavement, sideway, edges of the pavement, and other places. However, bricks tend to become discolored because of gathering grime, moss, and dirt over time. Pressure washing can restore the former beauty of your brick-made pavement and other things. Bricks tend to be porous and absorb quickly. So, soak the surface thoroughly with clear water before using detergents.

Cleaning Mildew from Wood Surfaces

Wood is a common material that is used in many things like decks, front door, flooring and railings of the front patio, etc. Over time, thin and whitish layer of mildew grows on the wooden surface. Pressure cleaning is a good way to remove mildew. If the layer is not deep and severe, only pressure cleaning is enough to take it away. However, if the layers are severe, you have to use a solution of water, Jomax mildewcide, and liquid bleach with a pump garden sprayer on the mildew-stained areas before treating with pressure washing.

Clean Exterior before Painting

Some homeowners choose repainting the home exterior in order to increase the property’s market value. Before applying painting, you have to pressure wash the areas where you want to apply the paint. At first, use water without any solution to knock down spider nests, leaves, inactive wasp nests, and most of the dirt. Dry up the places and wash again, this time with a water-solution mixture. Clean it with fresh water and apply painting after a couple of weeks. High-pressure water stream can effectively penetrate the textured surfaces of vinyl, wood, and aluminum sidings. So, you can also use it to clean the interior of your house too.
